Skinny Lister - Down on Deptford Broadway on the Moon

This album came out in April and is the second LP from this punkish folk outfit from London. Obvious comparisons are The Pogues at their most melodic and featuring Kirsty MacColl or The Levellers at their most folky and it should impress any Mumford and Sons fans seeking refuge from their transformation into Coldplay gone wrong, as long as they can cope with it being a bit political. However, the band they remind me most of is Wigan's very own The Tansads, but at their best and without any naff attempts at trying to sound contemporary. Check it out via Spotify below or any of the other usual places.
