Moon Film Review: The Front Runner

Your Cultural Correspondent (Film) is one of those people who, for whatever reason and for good or ill, finds their lives immersed in political debate. Being a child of the 1970s, born early enough in that decade to pass through almost all of the 1980s in a state of political consciousness, it has ever been thus for Your Cultural Correspondent (Film).

Which brings us nicely to the present day, but not to the B-word, fear not. No, it brings us to the latest film Your Cultural Correspondent (Film) has been to say: 'The Front Runner'. We thought it very good, telling its moral tale about Mr Gary Hart and those around and involved with him in a way that leaves us all to make our own judgement on the behaviour of those involved - and to reflect, of course, on the behaviour of those in leadership positions today. But we mustn't get distracted. No, we must conclude by saluting all the players, not a weak one amongst them, and make a special mention of Mr Hugh Jackman's hair - a thing of wonder so a particular applause to whoever styled it.
