Moon Film Review: Queen of Katwe

Your Cultural Correspondent (Film & Theatre) fears that 'Queen of Katwe' will not do as well at the Box Office as it should. That is a great shame because it is a film that should be seen by many, many people.

Happily, it isn't saccharine, doesn't portray the characters and their lives through rose-tinted spectacles, and does reveal that in addition to its language, England has also managed to export its snobbery. Overall, it is a good film with an applauso to the leads, in particular Mr Oyelowo, and an especial applauso for the end credits.
