Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat on the Moon

This album came out a couple of weeks ago and it took me a while to check out but not long to get into. It is more ambitious than their 2011 album, more like the excellent album Mr Moffat made with The Best Ofs back in 2009, as it is made up mostly of songs he actually sings rather than instrumentals with talkie bits - with which he first made his name with Malcolm Middleton in Arab Strap.

I have always been a more of a fan of Mr Middleton's solo output and thankfully Mr Moffat has also gradually produced material far more song based and he has a great voice. There are still a few talkie tracks but they are generally very funny and they all have great musical backing from Mr Wells. So if an older, but not much wiser character from Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting channeling Jarvis Cocker sounds like your cup of tea then check it out via Spotify below.
