Moon Film Review: Green Book

Your Cultural Correspondent (Film) immediately followed 'If Beale Street could talk' with 'Green Book' an altogether much better and more engrossing film. And one which we cannot praise enough, not least for it showing us what people who had to have recourse to the Green Book had to endure.

The story aside, the script was superb, as was the acting, both Mr Viggo Mortensen and Mr Mahershala Ali magnificent, especially the latter. Plus, of course, there was the wonderful portrayal of an Italian-American family. As we watched it, we thought of The Roman's words about Sophia Petrillo. Your Cultural Correspondent (Film) once asked Il Romano what they thought of Miss Petrillo's characterisation. Came back the response, 'it's very typical of Italians who live abroad'.
